Excellence in Teaching Award

The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes educators for the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies employed in a variety of settings.

Individuals may be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague. A summary of the innovative teaching strategy, not to exceed two (2) typed double-spaced pages outlining the general description, purpose/objectives, outcome measurements, significance and implications of the strategy should be submitted along with an attached application. Please do not include any identifying information in the summary as a blind review process will be used to select the most innovative teaching strategies.

Please send the original and three (3) copies of your application and abstract to:

Applications must be postmarked by October 11, 2008. All applicants must be members of the South Carolina League for Nursing (SCLN). A membership application can be accessed at http://www.nln.org/CLWebsites/SC/index.htm. The top three applicants will be recognized with cash awards of $300 for the most innovative teaching strategy, $150 for the runner-up and $75 for the honorable mention. Individuals selected will be expected to participate in the SCLN Awards Banquet to be held Friday, November 14, 2008 in Columbia by presenting a poster presentation. Abstracts of the winning projects will also be posted on the SCLN website.
